Riccardo Perugini was born in Montepulciano on 20 June 1996.
He has been interested in piano and composition since the age of four. He studied piano with Rita Cucè, Giovanni Doria Miglietta and Carlo Grante. He studied composition with Andrea Portera, Mauro Montalbetti and Detlev Glanert.
He is currently attending composition workshop held by Mauro Lanza and the solosits of Divertimento Ensemble (final concert in May 2021, Rondò concert season in MIlan, Maria Grazia Bellocchio piano) and the Barcelona Modern composition course held by Francesco Filidei, Oscar Bianchi, Barcelona Modern Ensemble and Vertixe Sonora Ensemble.
He has received several commissions among which: a commission by the Biennale d'arte di Venezia (DMC ensemble, conducted by Andrea Vitello), by Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Solisti del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino), by Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina (conducted by Mario Ruffini), by the 2 Agosto Composition Competition (Antonella Rondinone Soprano, Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini conducted by Alessandro Cadario) and Cantiere Internazionale d'arte di Montepulciano (Ensemble degli Intrigati conducted by Luciano Garosi), a commission by DUOroboros in collaboration with Fondazione Luigi Tronci and UFIP, by the Echi Festival in Arezzo, by ESTOVEST Festival in Turin in collaboration with Area Sismica for the project Isole d'istanti (Claudio Pasceri cello, Michele Marco Rossi cello), a commission by Fondazione Teatro Grande di Brescia on occasion of the 9th Festa dell'opera, by the Sincronie Festival in Rome, by Torinodanza Festival in collaboration with Teatro Stabile di Torino - Teatro Nazionale, Nexus Festival, MilanOltre, New Ensemble Xenia Turin and by the Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (...)
His music has been broadcasted on Rai radio 3, Rai 5, Radio Cemat, NPO radio 4 (Netherlands), Yleisradio Oy (Finland).
He classified second during the International Vocal Espoo Composition Competition 2016 in Helsinki with his composition "Preghiera" for female choir, two solo sopranos and string quintet. (Lyran Female Choir conducted by Jutta Seppinen)
He received the special mention during the 2 Agosto International Composition Competition 2017 in Bologna with his composition “The aberrant blooms of mind”, concertino for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra.
Finalist of the Alba Rosa Vietor International Composition Competition 2018 with his composition "Fiore di plastica" for soprano and piano trio (Amatis Trio and Katharine Dain soprano, Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam).
He received the special mention during the Uuno Klami Composition Competition 2019 with his composition "Malerbe" for soprano and orchestra. He is the youngest composer ever selected by the competition.
He won the absolute first prize during the Lunigiana Music Festival International Composition Competition 2020 with his composition "Fiore di plastica".
He received the Excellence Award during the 1st Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival 2020 "Art Creation Awards" International Orchestral Composition Competition.

In 2018 he founded the Ensemble Stamina.
